eGolfTip.com
The founders of eGolftip.com came to us back in late September of 2008 to help them evaluate the state of their website. They had begun design and development during the month of January, and were supposed to be live with their website by May. May came and went, so did June, July, and August.
In late September they finally received the final product from their developer, and that's when they called us. They wanted to get an opinion on the quality of the website that was delivered, along with an evaluation of where they needed to go from there. When the project was delivered, it was not accompanied by a scope of services or any type of documentation needed to understand what the original requirements were on the website. To get a good grasp on it, we sat down over many conversations with the owners and walked through the delivered website. We compared what was there with what they were looking for. Finally we tested the application and evaluated the code.
The findings were not positive. They had paid a steep price tag to have this website desined and developed, and it was no where near ready to be released to the world. The development work was substandard. The website design was ok, but not up to par. To make matters worse, there was nothing really good that we could salvage. We needed to start over.
In late October, after evaluating the situation, we broke ground on eGolftip.com version 2.0. Version 1.0 of the website would never see the light of day, but it was time to move on. Two short months later, eGolfTip.com was live on the web just after the 1st of the year in 2009. The final price tag for the initial phase was a fourth of what they originally spent. Since then we have spent some time making some tweaks, as is to be expected with any dot com startup, but we are looking forward to the next chapter in this story. The eGolfTip.com concept is a great one and we are looking forward to helping our client grow their business in 2009 and beyond.
